The New York Times is reporting that Facebook messages are about to go public by default and that this is one of the most anticipated days in the history of social networking. Facebook has already begun making status messages, photos and videos visible to the public at large by default instead of being visible only to a user’s approved friends. What’s not clear is whether or not you can prevent this from happening or whether or not you should delete your account to be safe. For more on the story make sure to check Facebook’s privacy terms and to read the NY Times article.

E! Online, The Oscars, Facebook, and Privacy… WTF!

For more on the debut, click here.
I am really starting to NOT like the lack of privacy that comes with having a Facebook.com account. As I was watching E! Live for the red carpet, I saw an advertisement for a new show. The commercial caught my attention, so I decided to log on to Eonline.com to find more information. As I clicked on E! I noticed my photo on the right side. Taking back, I thought WTF! Then I noticed it was Facebook related. Apparently, E! teamed up with Facebook to do what they describe as “Sound Off On The Oscars.” Ironically, next to my photo was a link to view Facebook’s “Privacy” terms and conditions. If you haven’t heard there have been many issues over the past week about these very same terms and conditions, which sparked a federal debut.

I Hate The New Facebook: Facebook Boycott Called

As someone that is new to facebook, I am not sure what the old design looked like; however, I will say that the new design is not user friendly. Believe it or not, this is not the first boycot. There was actually a boycott in 2006. For more info on the boycott click here.
